The lump-sum construction contract includes the construction, expansion and modernization of more than 360 km of strategic highways in the state of Michoacán. Among them are the Morelia Bypass (64.1 km), the Uruapan Bypass (25.5 km), the expansion of the Pátzcuaro–Uruapan section into an A4-type highway (56.75 km), and the modernization of the Uruapan–Lázaro Cárdenas corridor (215.48 km).

Description of the works

Among the executed structures are the grade-separated interchanges of Copándaro, Cápula and Pátzcuaro, with six structures totaling an area of 2,200 m², in addition to 27 structures on the main roadway, reaching approximately 9,000 m².

The project also includes the construction of several singular viaducts, among them El Nispo and Hornos III, together with the Viaducto Hornos IV, a large-scale structure measuring 204 meters in length distributed over five spans and six supports. Its deep foundation is resolved with 15 piles per pile cap, while the rectangular columns rise to a maximum height of 58 meters, providing the structure with a total surface area of 9,450 m².

Impact

This project represents a key step forward for mobility in the region, strengthening the connection between the main urban centers and the port of Lázaro Cárdenas Port, with a direct impact on logistics competitiveness and the economic development of Michoacán.
